I'm now packing in preparation for my return to Beige University. One thing that I'll have to get used to is living with a herbivore again. I've spent most of my life foraging for that diet, and it will be interesting to see if I'm ever tempted by any of the meals that Rachel will be eating. (Obviously that wasn't a factor with Rhonda!)
Fenton and I are managing
Hare-Link's tech issues, getting the system ready to run automatically while we're away at college. (Of course, we'll be coming back on weekends for regular maintenance, and we're always just a two-hour drive away in case of emergencies.)
Rudy's been bringing me daily updates on the Edgar situation. I passed them along to Rhonda, who wasn't interested, except for how it impacted the hunting team. She was surprised that a lioness had joined the squad, and that it was even someone she knew.
Leona Mangle had always had a crush on Edgar, Rhonda said. Rhonda never minded, as she doubted that Edgar even realized it. (Rhonda could tell, of course!) Leona comes from a single-parent household, living with her father. I could relate to that; Angelique was so emotionally absent during my upbringing that I often felt that
I was being raised by a single father.
