Rudy came home from hunting practice with amazing news; Edgar showed up for hunting tryouts, and even cut his mane so that no one would recognize him. All this is in a vain, misguided attempt to win back the heart of Rhonda, now a married tiger.
For a brief moment I was in a quandary over whether to tell Rhonda, but it was a moot point. Within minutes of Edgar's appearance at the tryouts, every single member of the hunting team sent Rhonda a text message letting her know.
Fenton and I went over to her new place; she and Quinn are living with his parents, the Rabelais, and getting ready to move to the university's family housing in a few weeks. Mr. and Mrs. Rabelais actually appeared relaxed and calm, with none of the nervousness I normally associate with the rabbits I grew up around (except for Dad, of course!). Then I realized...they now have a tigress protecting them.
Rhonda's reaction to the news about Edgar was essentially...Eh. She's moved on, and honestly doesn't care one way or the other about him and his hunting efforts. She thinks his lioness disguise is a bit silly, but she isn't going to do anything to expose him.
Rhonda, Quinn, Fenton and I spent the evening online playing World of Wolfcraft as a team. We look forward to hanging out together on campus in the fall!
