FIRST TEETH

On Wednesday after class I got a text message from Danielle saying only "OMNIVRE TEETH." I knew immediately that Francis's teeth were coming in, and that they weren't a rabbit's nor that of a fennec fox. (Technically, fennecs are omnivorous but I knew what she meant.)
I called and reassured her that my initial genetic analysis proved conclusively that she and George were the parents. In fact, that was the only thing I could prove, beyond Francis being a mammal. The questions that weigh upon my mind are: Are the teeth human? ...What would that mean? ...Not only for Francis, but for any offspring that I would have in the future?

I don't think you have to worry about Francis. He doesn't look even remotely human. As for a side effect of his mother having human origins, I wouldn't worry about that either. Francis isn't exhibiting any signs of human genetic illnesses that I know of. He seems perfectly normal for his (unknown) species. But think about this, the GBC came from the human world, right? Their children have been perfectly fine. I'm just guessing Fennec/Rabbit relationships aren't very common and so any documented cases of new species from said relationships may have just gone undocumented. Francis may very well have some "Fennit" or "Rabbec" bretheren in the world, being kept quiet from the non-crossbreed world. While the furriness could be accounted for by a 'hirsutism' gene in humans, I can't think of anything that would account for the his ears. True, some humans do have large ears, but the only ears I have seen even remotely similar to the pair Francis sports were either animated on TV or part of a costume (i.e. not real).

As for your children, I think the only thing you would need to worry about is them growing quills during gestation. I bet that would *hurt*.

Actually, quills DO form during gestation, but are very soft, so during birth, the mom isn't hurt.

Waaay earlier I hypothesised that Francis might be a throwback to the first mammals to evolve. Omnivorism would seem to make sense if that was true. Anyway, canines like m'self have never been totally carnivorous, unlike felines, and since his mum is a rabbit it just makes sense he'd be even more omnivorous.

Or maybe it's like when a lion and a tiger mate. You don't get a cat with the front half tigerstriped and the back half tawny. You get a liger with markings that are somewhat like a lion's and somewhat like a tiger's.

If Francis' teeth are human, could it be only his baby teeth?

I wonder if, as his adult teeth come in, Danielle and George find Francis' teeth are actually half rabbit, and half fox?

Oh well, time will tell.
