ABY’S RACING HEART

While all this stuff is going on with dimensional portals and such, life goes on back in Domain. The news there concerns Kell’s feline friend Aby Eyeshine, who seems to have fallen for a mouse. Another possible pair for the Inter-Species Relationship Support Group!
It started back in October when Mark Meadowvole repeatedly brought his Camaro to Aby with suspension problems. Aby, out of professional pride, couldn’t figure out why her repairs kept failing. She followed him one night and found the reason: he and other mice were racing their vehicles around corn mazes.
This fired her competitive juices, and she offered her services to transform his machine into vehicle capable of making 90-degree turns in tight confines. She’s spent the last three months giving the car a radical makeover, and in the process she and Mark fell in love.
Last night was the big race, and Mark won after his rival Sam Sewerrat was DQ’ed for using a GPS to guide him through the maze to the cheese. Aby and Mark...celebrated.
As you may recall, Aby is officially married to her career. Some have wondered if this constitutes infidelity, but I happen to believe it complements her relationship to her auto repair business. It may, in fact, raise it to another level. At the very least it opens up a whole new client base: mice who would have never previously considered seeking help from a cat.

Francis gives L&F an indication of what would happen if they had a child where they are now. Ursala, if they came over here and gave birth.

Most mice have to be rather depressed to seek help from a cat.
But it is nice that Abby has a companion who is also interested in autos.

Or at least clients who will always pay their bills on time if they want to avoid winding up on the dinner table. };3

The same thing happened when Aby hired Kell. She learned the canine language & started fixing cars belonging to canines. She even got the contract fixing Herd Thinners vehicle thru Kell. Now she has the oppertunity to learn the mouse language. She may even hire some mice to work on the cars.

From the strips, Mark didn't seem depressed at all, but wanting to win using whatever honest means were available. But yes, it did seem he had a fearless streak.

Hmmm, I wonder if his racer is going to start carrying Abby's shop logo on it for advertising?

Is that a giant lizard going after a mouse Coney & Lin made out of blocks. I didn't think any one pre-school would have that many blocks for the entire school. They must have used over a thousand blocks for that project.

I got the impression of a scorpion based on the "tail".

Don't forget that Coney is half rabbit and excellent at foraging also, i.e. Easter Egg hunts!

While I am glad Miss Eyeshine is happy, I have to confess a twinge of jealousy that Mr. Meadowvole is the reason for said happiness. Ah, well, I wish them the best.

So, Lindesfarne, where would you have your kid, assuming that in some future you do expand your family that way?

And how will this research change your plans?

I think the only way Kell is goibng to get Aby to sit & have coffee with her if if she invotes Aby's boy friend to join them.
