MEET THE NEW BOSS, NOTHING LIKE THE OLD BOSS

It's now been 24 hours since the boardroom battle. Again, I'll report what I know.
As soon as I got Kell's text I made the two-hour drive back to Domain and arrived at Chewtoy Hospital. Kell had already been treated for her superficial wounds by Dr. Caduceus, while R.L. and Mr. Mangle were undergoing surgery. Their most serious wounds were internal injuries that would have killed them without prompt treatment, and in both cases the surgeons stopped the bleeding.
Dad, Rudy, Coney and Elanor were already there when I arrived, and we went in to see Kell where she told us the whole story. After she stopped the fight and got the two combatants loaded onto ambulances, she notified the rest of us. Then she briefly went to the CEO's office which already had her name on the door. She performed a traditional ceremony in which she claimed that territory as her own. (You don't want me to go into any more detail about that.) Another ambulance then took her to the hospital.
We all began processing the day's events, and none of us are close to a mental resolution. Kell, despite her injuries and the head-spinning situation, had the presence to issue a press release confirming that she was the CEO. That caused the Herd Thinners stock to rebound before the market's close, so her quick action saved the investors a lot of money.
Fenton flew in after nightfall, and for the first time he and I slept in my old room in my parents' house. (That was a strange feeling.) Today we all returned to the hospital. Frank Mangle was awake, but only allowed his daughter to visit. Meanwhile, Kell went to see R.L.
I said hello to Angelique. These days she and I are...cordial. I told her I hoped her husband would pull through. Kell went inside to see him, and while I couldn't hear what they were saying they were definitely speaking *feline*.

He was letting her in on the secrets of the office. Like his knowing how to speak not only feline but gator bear & any other species that worked for Herd Thinners. He told her it was what made a good leader.

He also told her to makje him proud.

As the CEO of Herd Thinners will she still live in the same home as always or will she move into a bigger place.

Hey, haven't been on for months (rumors of my devouring, if any, are unfounded) when I learned about the CEO transfer. One spit-take later, I came over here to get the info. This is, wow. Congratulations. I may work for Omnicorp (as an omnivorous fennec) but it's always good to know who's on top at HTinc.

So...does your family have any plans about any changes to their lifestyle because of this?

There are no plans to move from the Dewclaw treehouse. There's plenty of room in it, especially now that I've moved out. Besides, they only have to look next door to see that a huge mansion doesn't guarantee happiness.

First. RL is only stepping down as CEO. He still owns 40% of the stock of HT so he will be a member of the board when he recovers. Angelique will cover him untill then.

Granted a huge mansion doesn't guarantee happiness but I was thinking something much smaller. Say 3 or 4 bedrooms & one function rooms say 100' by 60' for entertaining the family & for office partys.

I think Fiona's mansion must have about 20 or 30 bedrooms.

Already had her name on the office?
As in the events were a forgone conclusion or as in somebody did a fast job?
There is an idea that RL wanted to retire, and chose this painful way to do so and live, basing his decision on Kell's likely response.
This is way more sneaky than we have been giving him credit for and a bit chancy, so we are not sure. But it is possible, and any evidence that it is so will be interesting to us.

As Mr Brams said, RL was lettting Kell know about his linguistic skills and it's importance in running Herd Thinners. Angelique seems to be focusing on making the transition as smooth as possible for Kell whilst also securing a level of comfort for herself and her family. All up, I'm impressed with RL, though not surprised. You can't run a successful company through fear and predation alone, not even one like Herd Thinners.

I guess if remarks were made he hid that he knew so that people would make the mistake of plotting against him thinking he couldn't be found out...so what plans does Kell have in that regard?

It's been a week since your last blog saying it just happened.
There is obviously some sort of time disparagement between our worlds. This goes beyond simple perception, and as a scientist, the only scientist that knows about our two worlds, you should definitely look into this.

The simplest other example is that we're had a look into your world for fifteen years, at least fourteen have passed since Coneys birth, but she's only...two? Three?

Your college life. however, seems to be synced up to our world.

On topic though, congrats to Kell. Not sure if this is something she really wants, but it will mean you have very little to worry about financially for awhile. She should also be free from challenges for awhile, seeing as she knocked out R.L. and Frank(even if she could be accused of cherry picking)

Makokam, i agree, i have been thinking about the time difference, and i hope to see an up coming assignment on this debate from our quilled genius, also this explaines the "one week = 24 hours" question and the "14 years = 3 years" one as well.
Now i have a question, why is this posted on saturday instead of sunday like usual?

If thing ran at the same speed as we do Coney would be in college at this time & a bridesmaid instead of the flower girl. Fiona & Rudy would have married years ago & would have their own children by now.

As for the posting day. Check the back listings & you will find lots of times it was posted on Saturday instead of Ssunday.

It is also a kind of bandwidth problem.
We only get to see the highlights of their lives,
one 3 or 4 or 5 panel section at a time. If things get going\
fast, we slip.
Their downtime is not seen much.

Also I have been told that the time slip will be high for an indeterminate time.

With an event like this, a lot of rumors are probably inevitable. I'm inclined to go for "Occam's Razor," and conclude RL thought Mangle wasn't serious or success time and time again had made him overconfident.

RL still owns most of the shares but it is Kell who runs it.

Think like when Fiona owned Hare-link but it is Kevin who ran it.

Also this could be an opportunity for Rudy to get a job at Herd Thinners if he wants, but he might take an art role in his career choice.

Now that Herd Thinners is under new management it won't be just the company that will be affected, but the town as well.

Btw- when I 1st read Herd Thinners I thought Head Thinners.

Congratulate Kell for me! I'm guessing RL would have liked giving the CEO position to Kell if he could have. I hope Frank and RL have a sucessful recovery too, though it sounds like both will be out of circulation for a while (I'm sure Leona will be keeping watch on Frank to make sure he doesn't try anything like this again soon).

By the way, how is Edgar taking this? I know he looks up to Frank Mangle as a role model.

Anything and everything alive in the K&K universe is thinking, or potentially thinking.
See Rudy vs the germs.
Any normal hygienic action will 'kill millions', death is built in as in our universe, and killing thinking beings is as well, in contrast.

Except that viruses aren't alive. Well, some debate that they are, but I am ubiquitously in the camp that they are not. I'm guessing this was more a 'joke' that you get on the human side than somthing that actually happened on our side.

with all these good things happening for the Dewclaw family, i wonder what type of conflict will happen, with Kell's new job placement or Kevin's well working HareLink service, or even (well i was wondering about this one, tell me if I'm wrong but the only thing i could find was science research) Lindesfarne's lack of a job, or something... LET THERE BE DRAMA!!!!

Lindesfarne is still in college. From what I read she may be teaching a class. I would asume that she will either get some kind of pay or get a reduction in the tuition she is paying.

I don't see how this would change things for Hare links. They are doing a job. Who runs H.T. does not matter.

no, what i mean is... sigh... every storyline (no mater real, or fake as in books) every action has an equal and opposite reaction, meaning that with every good thing, a bad thing is sure to happen. Maybe bad isnt the right word... by bad, i mean dramatic, as in, someone is going to have a baby, or someone's long lost cousin has come to join the family that with causes tension. But none of this may happen, maybe the job of C.E.O. will be hard and spiteful, or maybe I'm just rambling on about something I have no clue about... so go ahead Lindesfarne, injoy or feel worried, i would recommend just beinf supportive of her and go on, but im just too hateful like that, and I'm sorry for it...

Lindesfarne, i have a question i have just thought to ask... I know you live in the town of the domain, but what state?
If it makes anyone feel any better, I live in the city called Austin, which is a blue dot in a sea of red, not as if that mattered, Texas is my home state, but we have nothing in common... speaking of which, i wonder if the names of the states are different between the two worlds? Would some one from the Human side tell me the names of your states in your America?

I would think the states would be the same. George and Danielle Fennec honey-mooned in Nebraska.
Tammy and Ray live in North Carolina, probably along the Outer Banks, given that their home is a lighthouse.

she wouldnt have to lose, she could promote someone to have the next place as HT's CEO, or she could fake a battle with someone trustworthy like Frank something (Im not to good with names), I mean he was the one who WANTED the place in the first place, or she may want the place of CEO. But with great power comes great responsibility as Ben Parker used to say, he was a grandfather of one of my friends, Peter.
