It seems summer just started and I'm already getting ready for the fall semester. I never really unpacked, as my room is full of boxes of my dorm stuff that I don't need while living at home. (Food preparation items, utensils, bug zapper...)

I'll be rooming with Rhonda again, as we've established a pretty close friendship. The big change is that we'll now be in a coed dorm, with Fenton living a floor below with a roommate he found on MyTree.

His roommate is a bird, which could actually work out nicely since the schedules of bats and avians don't overlap. It's not an uncommon pairing; I know a bat-girl named Stellaluna who find the arrangement quite acceptable.

Stellaluna!I think I know the girl.Odd little thing,I wonder if she still hangs by her thumbs instead of her feet.

Stellaluna...that rings a bell. I think when my son was a toddler, I used to read him a story about Stellaluna?

Well, yes, of course, but it's because Stellaluna spent a highly formative time of her life living with birds -- and expected to live as a bird. She's quite remarkable, I understand. Perfectly comfortable in the world of birds and the world of bats.

Hard to believe she's old enough for college. I remember reading her riviting tale to my son as a todler, too.

Stellaluna! omigod! Well you bet she's OK. She lived with us for a while, got in some trouble with our Mom until she settled in and behaved like the rest of us birds. We had fun, and she did teach me to like fruit. I'm glad to hear about her. Thanks.
BTW, there's a delightful book about our childhood called "Stellaluna". Fabulous artwork. We've all changed, but Mom still looks the same.
