IS THERE A DOCTOR IN THE CHURCH?

I only have time for a quick text. Just before the ceremony was supposed to begin (at midnight), a serious injury occurred to the town’s only general practitioner, Dr. Caduceus. A branch from the church’s tree broke off, falling on him as he was able to enter.
Being a doctor, he was quickly able to diagnose what was happening to him as he slowly began losing feeling in the lower part of his tail. The gradual nature of this (as opposed to immediately losing sensation) told him that while he had no broken bones, a large bruise was causing swelling that was pressing on his spinal cord.
Someone needed to relieve that pressure right away, or else the paralysis might be permanent. That’s when a certain vampire bat volunteered her services.
Desdemona asked her bat family to use their sonar on Dr. Caduceus to locate the exact spot of the swelling. Triangulating their sound waves, they found right where she should drain the fluid. That, she did expertly and precisely. His feeling began returning soon after, to everyone’s relief.
The doctor’s been taken to the hospital where the staff will evaluate him and keep him overnight. Now, we’re all regrouping for the start of my wedding.
Whew!

Why do I think I remember Dr. C as being female? Or are there siblings, one of whom has moved away?

Wasn't Doc C involved with a pole dancer (making the merchant medical two snakes symbol instead of the medical medical one snake symbol).
Likely male at that time.

I know this story will make the news on your side, Lindesfarne. In one act, Desdemona will have forced everyone especially those who had 'something come up' to re-evaluate their opinions of vampire bats. She'll be a hero (whether she wants to be or not) and she may become a symbol for any movement to 'de-mystify' the vampire bat...

I hope the rest of the wedding goes off without any further hitches: you've already had enough!

Well, It could have ended a whole lot worse. Thank Goodness for Mrs. Fuscus. I agree this should put Vampire bats in a whole, but let's not forget what happens to Kevin once (Rabbits being profiled as speeding and all). :3

Their is a docter in the church. Only its him who needs the help.

Its a good thing Desdemona can help. The flea network could work to your advantage this tome. But only with anyone still in the area.

How ever things work out enjoy your wedding & honeymoon. When they are over the real work will start. Like where in your home to put the wedding gifts. In the fall its back to college to start on your MASTERS degree.

Well, I've heard that term used metaphorically.....

But it's only at Equine weddings that we actually do it.

Surely Mrs. Fuscus should have considered a career in the medical field. She could very well be a phlebotomist, or an imaging specialist with all natural talent.

All bats should consider using their sonar for medical needes.

Thank goodness! Being the only doctor in town, the loss or incapacitation of Dr. C would have been tragic.

I don't know how big Domain is but it may be time to bring in another doctor.

I hope they found either a breath mint or some mouthwash for Fenton's mother. By the look on her face she needed it.

Leaking spinal fluid in a human can often leave a metallic taste in the mouth. I'm not sure what a snake's tastes like, but evidently by that look, she didn't think it tasted like blood.

Now that the doctor will be alright, I do not feel so bad commenting on smething more frivolous: I am very impressed with your choice of bridesmaids' dresses. You actually did pick out a style that can be worn again!

For some reason (gee, I wonder), I'm now thinking of various effects of mixed-species offspring. With Coney, Angstrom and Corrie as examples, we can infer that they express primarily as one parent, but with traits from the other. (Francis' metamorphosis removes him from reasonable consideration.) But we still don't know if they're typical. I suspect that that a discworld-like "Law of Humorous Bloodymindedness" may be in effect.

I only bring this up because my mind took an odd turn now that you are on your honeymoon (at the time of this reply) and I was think about the fact that you're a hedgehog and not, as you had been raised, a porcupine. As a porcupine can shake quills free (but not shoot them, contrary to popular belief), and would may have learned to fly or glide (possibly by flattening quills into wing surfaces), they would have made natural bombers. I suspect that Domain's military may very well be paying very close attention to the children of mixed species partnerships.
