DOWN FROM THE IVORY TOWER

As much as I enjoy college life at Beige University, it's also nice helping out this summer at Hare-Link. I do a lot of theoretical work in my studies and for Professor Antlerhead's research team, but the things I do for Dad have real world impact.

In the news this week the Mayor talked about reviving the citywide wi-fi network, which we installed but was canceled due to the influence of telecoms fearing that it would cut into their business. This time there would be usage fees so the wi-fi wouldn't be free, but at least it would be operational.

Meanwhile, Rudy is continuing his driving lessons under Dad's extremely patient tutelage. When Dad taught me to drive it was different; I'm not as aggressive a species as Rudy is, so I was much more cautious. (The downside is that I used to wait ten minutes before making a turn. I've gotten better about that.)

I do remember, though, wishing the car would fly...

Ever consider getting your pilot's license???

Yeah! I'd like to see you getting a pilots license! I'd be convinient for you (as well as... um... helpful!) AND you'd love that! ...At least I'd think you'd love it... heh!

Wi-fi can be a difficult business, I remeber when the networks were being installed arond my area... it ended up being only in 2 "hot-spots" so to say, which were a hotel by the highway, and a McDonalds near the hotel... poor set-up I know... which is why I'm enjoying my home brodband... less hassle

And to comment on the driving... well, I havn't gone in and got my Learner's Permit yet... I don't know about you... but I'd rather walk... gives me time to let my fur soak in some summer warmth for a change ^^

I didn't learn to drive until I was 30 (I was too poor to own a car anyway. Still am...), so I managed to avoid those wild teenage driving habits and the high insurance premiums that come with them.

P.S. Has Kevin put the obligatory "Student Driver: Be Afraid! Be VERY Afraid!" sign in the back window?

Driving has always made me sleepy and/or sick or both. I just don't like cars.

Maybe it's got something to do with my instructor, who used to constantly yell and scream in my ear.
