...Is Rachel Einhorn, my new roommate. She's not exactly a new acquaintance; in fact, I've gotten to know her quite well since she joined Rudy's hunting foursome. I hadn't known that she'd graduated from Caliban and enrolled at Beige U. until Rudy spoke up last week.
Anyway, it's all set. I'll be in the same dorm, only now sharing a room with Rachel instead of Rhonda. In a way, it'll be slightly more hazardous. While there was never a possibility of being eaten by Rhonda, I might get trampled by Rachel if she's not careful. Seriously, she does let her charging instincts take over at the sight of unfamiliar things, and despite her petite size she's pretty strong. I've seen her knock down trees during hunting competitions.
So...it'll be an interesting year, as we move in after Labor Day. Rachel's girlfriend Joan Hoof will be helping us carry our belongings, even though Joan still has a year to go in high school. Long distance relationships have their difficulties (as Fenton and I discovered!) but those two seem very much in love so I hope they can maintain it.
