I've been advertising for a new roommate, to no avail. I really want something lined up so that I don't have to rely on whatever the university housing computer randomly gives me. (Fenton immediately volunteered, of course, knowing full well that I'd shoot that down. He knows that we're waiting until marriage; besides, he already has a roommate in Bob Shrike.)
Despite my positive experience with Rhonda, Kell wants me to room with a non-predator. She knew Rhonda very well prior to us going off to college, and Kell already trusted her completely. She wouldn't have the same assurance with a carnivore I'd just met, and I guess I can see her point.
Speaking of points, I now wonder how protective my quills really are. Rhonda admitted that tigers take courses in quill avoidance, and it was amazing to see that in action when she embraced Quinn. Very dexterously, she slid her arms around him close to his clothing through the base of the quills, not getting close to the pain-causing tips.
Fenton discovered how to do that, but it took a
lot of trial and error.
