According to Kell, Aby Eyeshine's entire social life is centered around the feline virtual environment of Ninth Life. That's not surprising since she has no time for anything else; as a small-business entrepreneur she's married to her work. In her case, literally.
Not knowing the feline language used exclusively by the Ninth Life participants, I'm unable to understand all of what's going on. It is obvious that it provides an outlet for a species that has a reputation for being aloof loners. That may be an example of a stereotype that his no basis in fact, and that felines genuinely do seek connection with others. Ninth Life offers an outlet for that. (It's unusual to find an online world in the users create avatars exactly like their real world selves. Here's
Aby's.)
There currently isn't a canine equivalent of Ninth Life; that'll probably have to wait until computers come with a "scent" card.
