It's getting toward the end of the semester, which means Finals. I'm stocking up for the supplies needed for the days and nights of 24-hour studying...Sort of like what hibernating species do prior to winter.
Before getting down to serious business, Fenton and I put stars on the top of some of the area evergreens. It was just our way of bringing a little seasonal joy to campus. In Fenton's case, I think it helped ease his feelings of separation from Tree back in Domain. Tree has definitely become the maternal force in his life; ironically just as he left for college. I can relate, as Kell has played a similar role for me.
Back in Domain, the family is preparing for the holidays. Putting up decorations, buying gifts online, sending out E-cards and taking Coney to visit Santa at the Mall. (We no longer worry about her mistaking him for a snack; she now knows he brings her presents. Never underestimate the power of childhood greed!)
